The transmitter has four buttons; on, off, mode, and set. Turn the fireplace on and off manually, or you can set the temperature for the room by turning on the thermostat setting and selecting the temperature you wish. The timer can be set in fifteen minute increments, up to 9 hours. Available countdown times are 15 min, 30 min, 45 min, and 1 hour to 9 hours (alternating every 30 mins.) The LCD screen displays the room and thermostat temperature in F or C. This system operates on radio frequencies within a 20 range using non-directions signals. In order to operate this remote, you must have a junction box that is in working condition under your fireplace. We recommend making sure the junction box works before making your purchase.
