The author is a concept writer. Having written two previous titles of poetry-drama, she has now written a book of verse. The style of versification is metric, however no established form of poetry is followed. The style of verse derives from the ghazal format of the east in that it maintains a steady rhyme and refrain, but unlike ghazals the verses are arranged in quatrains to create sort of literary rondeaus. The lines are in strict pentameter. ** The entire books follows a narrative. It traces the story of a man, also a poet fallen on difficult times having lost "home and hearth" and having to make do in a world to which he has not been bought up. It deals with themes of displacement, dearth, difficulty, power, family, loneliness, business and money, nature, life, love, illness and death. Read more
